TABBERT
When master bodywork builder Alfred Tabbert presented his first caravan to the public in 1953, he struck a chord with an entire generation. The years of the ‘economic miracle’ in Germany ushered in elegance, chic and a new self-confidence that TABBERT skilfully conveyed in his exterior and interior designs. People wanted to – and could – afford to indulge themselves. "La Dolce Vita” captured the hearts of an entire nation. Europe wanted to travel and enjoy life to the full. TABBERT designed the products to enable this – products that stood out with their unique mix of materials, stylish interiors, high-quality workmanship and practical design solutions. And so it remains today.
TODAY
As TABBERT offers a variety of model ranges with diverse layouts, caravanning fans are bound to find just what they are looking for: a caravan that fully meets their travel expectations. And preferably lasts a lifetime. So with the market launch of the PANTIGA, the in-house development team once again challenged every convention and created a new dimension of mobility.
2018
With the aim of once again combining the familiar TABBERT home feeling with refined technical and design upgrades, we are launching the correspondingly enhanced model ranges, including the completely overhauled ROSSINI.
2008
PAGANINI set new standards in the caravanning industry and establishes a new generation of caravans concerning design and construction.
2002
Production of the 250,000th TABBERT caravan – of course based on the proven TABBERT premium concept. In the following years many TABBERT models are awardwinners.
1986/87
The TABBERT Caravan GmbH, which also includes FFB and CI Wilk Bad Kreuznach GmbH, was rebranded to TIAG – TABBERT Industrie AG. Ten years later, TIAG was taken over by KNAUS AG.
1973
At the end of the 60s the 25,000th caravan leaves the production line. On 31 October 1973 Alfred Tabbert died from a heart attack while he was working in his plant.
1971
Until 1965 the product portfolio continuously increased up to 14 different models: "Kurfürst", "Exzellenz", "Comtesse" and "Gouverneur" capture the industry, so that Alfred Tabbert becomes top of the German manufacturers in 1971.
1963
TABBERT caravans get the legendary rear-ventilated roof and the so-called »TABBERT nose« that still characterises the TABBERT style today.
1962

1955/56
The first production series of caravans was started only a few years later, followed by the first awning in the early 60ties.
1953
At the age of 45 caravanning pioneer Alfred Tabbert produced his first caravans with 120 employees. Only two years later the first »Ideal« caravan is produced in series.
1948
In 1948 a conflagration blasted the factory and valuable stocks. Hence, Alfred Tabbert took the chance and founded a new company "Fränkische Fahrzeug- und Möbelwerke", comprising of 120 employees and a new production hall for single axle trailers and furniture.
1946
As the company was destroyed by a bombing raid, Alfred Tabbert had to start anew. Together with approximately 80 employees nearly 12 pushcarts and agricultural platform lorries were produced every day.

1934
Only a few years after his graduation, Alfred Tabbert founded his first own company in Schweinfurt: "Karosseriebau Alfred Tabbert".
1923-27
The whole world is crazy about mobility - and so is Alfred Tabbert. Thus he learned the trade of car body manufacturing at the Siemens-Automobilwerken in Berlin, where he also passed his examination for the master's certificate. (Image: Stadtgeschichtliches Museum Spandau - Inv.Nr: Fo-251)

By the time Henry Ford started producing the legendary T-model, which was the top-selling car in the world until 1972, Alfred Tabbert was born.
